Leigh Sings "Que Sera" and Makes: Spanakopita Womlettes
Leigh Sings Songs and Makes Waffles 2024! Friends we're back: the geese, the mini waffles maker, the random song choices, it's all back! And probably not better than ever but we're trying. So here's the deal, I do not remember farting repeatedly while making this video but oh boy listening back to the audio I had to ask myself: What is that noise? Was that me? Have I gotten so old that I fart and don't even realize it? Who can say... So here's a fun game: give it a listen and be sure to comment if you definitely hear some suspicious noises. So how do you make a Womlette you ask? Well let me lay it out for you: INGEDIENTS for Spanikopita Womlettes: 1 leek (finely chopped, washed throuroughly, and sauteed) chopped fresh spinach 8 oz feta Fresh Mint 4 eggs Then sautee up your leek in some olive oil, add in chopped spinach. Take it off of the heat when it has cooked down a bit, but before your spinach loses color. Then add in feta, your chopped mint and your eggs. Then throw it in a waffle iron, sing a quick song and soon you're about to have a delish, noutrish, breakfast! About the music stylings in the episode: “Que Sera, Sera” Written by: Ray Livingston and Jay Evans Sloppily adapted by: Leigh Akin Produced, directed, filmed by and starring: Leigh Ellen Akin do we do hashtags on youtube? sure let's do it! #womlettes #greekcuisine #cooking #cookingvideos #waffles #wafflesforyou #ketorecipes #healthyrecipes #lowkeylowcarb #lowcarb #omelette #recipes #breakfast #breakfastideas #breakfastrecipes #music #singing #queserasera #breakfasttime #waffles #funny #funcooking

Leigh Sings "Happy Together" and Makes: Cream of Rice Waffles
Friends, is your water running? It is? Great! Then you are half of the way to making this very unfussy, savory Cream-of-Rice-waffle! That's right, a TWO INGREDIENT waffle today, you just need some Cream of Rice, some H2O, and a waffle iron, and before you know it you have a crispy, chewy, savory canvas with endless topping opportunities. This video was surprisingly NOT sponsored but the Cream-of-Rice dynasty, nor was it sponsored by the voice in your head that wonders "should I get a second cat" because the answer to that question is "NO!" Don't do it. One cat is enough, do not under any circumstances get a second one! What are you thinking?! Nor is this video sponsored by The Turtles. Cream of Rice Waffle Ingredients: 1 part Cream of Rice 2 parts Water Dash of Salt (optional) Today's Toppings: Cherry Tomatoes 1 chickens egg Avocado Mix together your Cream of Rice with your water in a microwave safe bowl, and microwave it for 1 minute and 30 seconds. Depending on the consistency you may need to add another tablespoon or so of water, but don't add too much water, that is bad news, we need a thick ish consistency to hold up in the waffle iron. Then sauté up some tomatoes, fry an egg, and slice up an avocado. When your waffle is all cooked up, carefully take it out of the waffle iron and top it with your preferred toppings, Today we are doing some sautéed tomatoes, an avocado and a fried egg. But you can truly let your creativity run the show. Today's music: "Happy Together" of The Turtles “Happy Together” Written by: Garry Bonner and Alan Gordon Sloppily adapted by: Leigh Akin

How to Make: MOCHI SKITTLE WAFFLES and Sing: "Over The Rainbow"
Friends, look to the brain of a 13-year old for your next ridiculous culinary venture! I asked my partner's 13-year old son "If you could turn any Halloween candy into a waffle, which candy would you choose" and he answered "skittles". Could it be done? Should it be done? To the first question: turns out, yes, you can turn Skittles into waffles! To the second questions: still not sure if the world needed this. But if want to give it a try like I did, here's what you'll need: Mochi-Skittle Waffles 1 Large Bag of Skittles (divided into colors) 1 1/2 cup of Mochi Flour (divided into 5 bowls) 1 Tbsp Baking powder (divided) 2 TBS Melted butter (divided) 1 1/2 cup of Milk (divded) a few pinches of salt How to: 1. Place 5 bowls on your counter and into each one measure 1/2 of a cup of mochiko flour, and 1/2 tsp of baking powder. Give them a stir. 2. Dump out a bag of Skittles and grab 1/4 cup of each of the respective colors, and one by one pulversize them into a powder, stirring each respective Skittle powder into each one of your mochi-flour bowls. 3. Finally stir in 1/2 cup of milk and 1/5 of you melted better into each of the bowls. 4. waffle em and marvel at the novelty of what you've created! NOTES: *BE SO CAREFUL WHEN REMOVING WAFFLES FROM THE IRON, the sugar content in these guys makes them boiling-lava hot when they first come out of the waffle iron. **They are super gooey when they first come out of the waffle iron, don't worry once they cool a bit they firm up and take on a nice, almost Skittle texture. #waffles #mochi #skittles #skittlewaffles #skittle #recipes #wafflerecipes #ridiculousideas #halloweencandy #candyrecipe #mochirecipe #recipeideas #halloween #hallowaffle #overtherainbow #tastetherainbow #waffletherainbow #waffling #waffleideas #kidsareridiculous

SMØRREBRØD but as a Waffle so SMØRREVAFFLE, I guess….
Happy November everyone, for the next few weeks I plan on recreating foods from the countries of my own European heritage, but as waffles, because I just really think waffles are fun. I thought about calling this series “white people waffles” but was advised against that, so I am open to suggestions for a series name. Let’s start in Denmark! Land of 1/4 of my fore fathers, and land of the original open-faced sandwich: Smørrebrød. They are little works of art, and a great way to spend some time if you are trying to distract yourself from election coverage. They are supposed to be served on thinly sliced rye bread, but we’re making Smørrevaffle today. And for this vaffle you’ll want to mix together some cottage cheese with an egg, and poppy seeds and caraway seeds and some whole wheat flour, or maybe try some rye flour if you have some sitting around, which I did not… Then waffle away, then make a bunch of finicky toppings, like egg and pickle salad; or smoked salmon with horseradish cream and fresh cucumbers; or roasted carrots with Greek yogurt and honey which was not very traditional but very delicious and I feel like any true Dane would appreciate my ingenuity. Then serve them with a shot of akavit or if you’re me, a glass of sparkling water because it’s a Tuesday, and I still have to go to work. WAFFLE (VAFFLE) 3/4 cup cottage cheese 1 egg 1 TBS poppy seeds 1 tsp carraway seeds 1/4 cup whole wheat fflour (or rye, or spelt, or AP gluten free) TOPPING IDEAS (just a suggestion, I invite you to go wild) Egg and pickle salad: 2 hard boiled eggs A few TBS chopped pickles 1 TBS Dijon mustard 1 TBS mayonaise or greek yogurt Salt Pepper Dill weed Smoked salmon with horseradish cream: flaked smoked salmon sour cream prepared horseradish freshly sliced cucumbers Carrot with greek yogurt and honey: 1 large carrot (peeled and chopped into slices about 1/3-1/2 inch thick, roasted with olive oil, and salt and pepper at 350* for 15 minutes) greek yogurt a drizzle of honey fresh basil or mint, chiffonaded on top. #waffles #easyrecipe #funrecipes #danishrecipes #danishculture #Smørrebrød #taditionalfoods #wafflerecipes #breakfastrecipes #openfacedsandwich #breakfast #lunch #healthyrecipes #healthyfood #delicious #deliciousrecipes #deliciousnutrition #breakfastlunchdinner #cottagecheese #eggsaladsandwich #poppyseed #smokedsalmon #carrot #funthings #waffleideas #wafflesandwich #waffletime
